Known issuesπŸ”—

There are no known issues at this time.

Breaking changesπŸ”—

Upgraded the Apache Hive connector driver to version 26.0.9762.0. This makes the following changes:

  1. Removes the UseDescTableQuery property.
  2. Removes the UseShowDatabasesQuery property.
  3. Removes the UseShowTablesQuery property.
  4. Adds a new FirewallAutoDetect property.

If your existing pipelines set any of the removed properties, review and update those components after upgrading.

Improvements and bug fixesπŸ”—

All platformsπŸ”—

  • Fixed an issue in the Google BigQuery Table Properties dialog where the Expiry time always displayed "Never", regardless of the table's actual expiry setting.
  • Fixed an issue in the Show To Grid orchestration component where the Grid Variable Mapping property listed no metadata when Object Type was set to External Tables, due to a malformed underlying query. All other Object Type options were unaffected.
  • Updated the BouncyCastle cryptography libraries used for connections to third-party sources, resolving known vulnerabilities present in the previous version.
  • Added DELETE support to the /environments REST API endpoint, alongside its existing CREATE, UPDATE, and REPLACE operations. You can now remove environments programmaticallyβ€”for example, to clean up environments created by mistake or no longer neededβ€”rather than deleting them manually through the UI. The endpoint doesn't let you delete a project's default/active environment or its last remaining environment.
  • Fixed an issue where the Manage Grid Variables and Manage Job Variables dialogs could intermittently hang on an infinite loading spinner when opening a recently imported job on a clustered (multi-node) instance.
  • Fixed an issue where a schedule became orphaned and misfired indefinitely if its associated job was deleted without first removing the schedule. Orphaned schedules are now removed automatically. Previously, enough orphaned schedules could build up to consume all available scheduler capacity on a node, blocking other legitimate scheduled jobs from running.
  • Updated Jackson and a number of other dependencies to the latest versions to address CVEs.
  • Fixed an issue where the run-history lineage resolver logged a JobNotFoundException: Orchestration job with id [-2] not found error every time a Matillion Shared Job (UDF) task ran.
  • Navigating to Project > Manage OAuth, the Store OAuth in a secrets manager option now supports secrets from Azure Key Vault and GCP Secret Manager, as well as AWS Secrets Manager. Previously, the picker only listed AWS Secrets Manager secrets, leaving customers on Azure or GCP with no way to store OAuth credentials externally.
  • Fixed an issue where the Salesforce Bulk Query component surfaced only a bare HTTP status, such as 400 Bad Request, when a bulk job request failed, with no further detail in the logs. Salesforce's error code and message now appear in the task log, making it easier to diagnose connection and query issues.
  • Added a new Copy Grants property to the Create View component (Snowflake), for both standard and materialized views. When set to Yes, it adds COPY GRANTS to the generated DDL, preserving any privileges previously granted on the view when your pipeline rebuilds it. This property defaults to No, so existing behavior doesn't change unless you turn it on.
  • Fixed an issue where selecting Cloud Datastore Backup as the source type in the Create External Table component required a table schema, compression setting, max errors allowed, and ignore unknown valuesβ€”despite these parameters being disallowed for this source type, causing the job to fail.
  • Updated the Zendesk Tickets API connector to use cursor-based pagination instead of the deprecated offset-based pagination. This fixes a 400 Bad Request error that occurred after each upgrade and required you to manually reconfigure the Zendesk API profile.

Driver updatesπŸ”—

  • Upgraded the Apache Hive connector driver to version 26.0.9762.0.
  • Updated the LinkedIn and LinkedIn Ads connector drivers to use a newer LinkedIn API version, ahead of LinkedIn's sunsetting of the previous version on October 15, 2026. This keeps both connectors working without interruption after that date.

Known issuesπŸ”—

Breaking changesπŸ”—

There are no breaking changes introduced in this release.

Improvements and bug fixesπŸ”—

All platformsπŸ”—

  • Updated third-party dependencies to resolve two vulnerabilities: a denial-of-service issue in the Netty XML codec (GHSA-v74w-7mr3-4qg3) and a template injection issue in Apache Velocity Engine versions before 2.3 (CVE-2020-13936).
  • Added a new OAuth (Client Credentials) authentication method to the Salesforce Query and Salesforce Output components, letting scheduled and unattended jobs authenticate using a Client ID, Client Secret, and Login URL from a Salesforce Connected App, instead of the interactive Web Server Flow login. The Salesforce Incremental Load shared job, which embeds Salesforce Query internally, inherits this authentication method automatically. This avoids job failures now that Salesforce enforces phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) on browser-based logins, which service accounts can't complete unattended.
  • Updated Jackson dependencies to the latest versions to address a number of CVEs.
  • Added a new API endpoint, POST /rest/v1/group/name/{groupName}/private-key/create, to create and store a private key within a group. The endpoint automatically detects the key type from the key material, and you can choose how the key is protected using the encryptionType parameter (ENCODED by default, or KMS and KVS for customers using AWS KMS or Azure Key Vault). The private key and passphrase are never returned in the response. For more information, read API v1 - Private key.

Driver updatesπŸ”—

  • Salesforce driver updated 25.0.9659.0 β†’ 26.0.9666.0 to prevent component timeouts when running queries with Bulk mode enabled.

Improvements and bug fixesπŸ”—

All platformsπŸ”—

  • Fixed an issue where Google BigQuery (GCP) environments had no way to set a concurrency limit at the warehouse level.
  • Fixed an issue where creating an OAuth entry for Google connectors (see the Google Query authentication guide) could fail with a "scopes cannot be requested together" error, because Matillion ETL requested a fixed set of scopes covering all five Google connectors regardless of which one was in use.
  • Fixed an issue in Google BigQuery job processing that could cause a job to fail unexpectedly when its status was temporarily unavailable, instead of continuing to retry as expected.
  • Fixed an issue where an OAuth callback redirect containing an authorization header that exceeded the maximum allowed size caused an unexpected HTTP 500 error instead of a clear validation error.

  • Fixed an issue where the stateless authentication connection did not automatically reconnect after a database connection reset, requiring users to restart the service to log in again.
  • Fixed an issue causing Shared Job and orchestration job components to intermittently execute twice and fail during high-concurrency parallel runs.
  • Fixed an issue where OAuth authentication using the API type with client credentials failed with an 'invalid_client' error when connecting to SAP OAuth 2.0 endpoints.
  • Fixed an issue in the Salesforce Output component where using Bulk API v2 caused the component to call the wrong stored procedure and misread columns from the driver's temporary job status table, resulting in an "Invalid job id" error and rows being incorrectly reported as not upserted, even though the data was written successfully.

DeprecationsπŸ”—

Due to the known security vulnerabilities in Python 2, Matillion will no longer offer support for this version of Python, and it will be deprecated in a future release of Matillion ETL. We recommend that you update any Python 2 scripts to Python 3 as soon as possible, or upgrade from Matillion ETL to Maia. The upgrade to Maia will automatically convert your Python 2 scripts to Python 3.

Improvements and bug fixesπŸ”—

All platformsπŸ”—

  • Fixed an issue where the Git integration could encounter inconsistencies in Git status tracking and commit history integrity.
  • Credentials hashing now uses the sha3-512 algorithm. Existing passwords will continue to work, but new passwords will be hashed using the more secure sha3-512 algorithm.
  • Updated the Tomcat version to 10.1.50.
  • Fixed an issue that was not allowing message task queues to close when the associated browser window closes, potentially wasting resources.
  • Improved the load times for the Matillion ETL application, with reduced delay after the "Loading please wait..." message.
  • Fixed an issue in the Jira Query component that was causing queries with a Common Table Expression (CTE) or WITH clause in the SQL Query property to fail with a Java NullPointerException.

SnowflakeπŸ”—

  • Added the ability to set a default Snowflake Query Tag at the project level, reducing manual configuration and improving consistency across environments. The project-level tag will act as the default query tag applied across all environments within the project unless overridden.

Delta Lake on DatabricksπŸ”—

  • Added the ability to retrieve column names from Databricks Unity Catalog foreign tables in the Table Input component.
  • Added support for Managed Volumes as a staging option for Databricks. Accessible managed volumes are listed based on Unity Catalog permissions.

RedshiftπŸ”—

Driver updatesπŸ”—

  • Snowflake JDBC driver updated 3.21.0 β†’ 3.28.0 to align with latest vendor release.
